Glutarylation Analysis Service

Glutarylation is a newly discovered type of acylation modification in recent years, which is reversible, dynamic, and conserved, and plays essential regulatory roles in genes, metabolism, and the cell cycle. Creative Proteomics offers high-quality glutarylation analysis services, including identification, quantification and characterization of protein glutarylation modifications, providing valuable insights into your protein research.

What is Glutarylation

Protein glutarylation is the enzyme-catalyzed covalent binding of a glutaryl group (e.g., a donor such as glutaryl coenzyme A) to a lysine residue of a substrate protein, and the process is reversible. Lysine itself has a positive charge, and when glutarylation occurs, it changes the positive charge to a negative one, and this change in the protein's charge affects protein conformation and protein-protein interactions.

As a newly discovered type of acylation modification in recent years, glutaralylation has significant regulatory effects on nucleosome assembly, chromatin structure, gene expression, DNA damage repair, and cell cycle, and similar to other acylation modifications, it also plays an important role in metabolism, which has been demonstrated to have an effect on nucleosome dynamic structure and sperm motility.
