On 10th to 13th May, 2014, the 7th international conference on ubiquitination and ubiquitin protein was held in Shanghai Jiaotong University. This conference was jointly organized by the university of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and Shanghai Jiaotong University. Many famous scientists came together to discuss this significant emerging field on the clinical application.
This conference was mainly focusing on estimating the most effective target and the new drugs of targeting molecules. Attendees would have a deep learn about the research progress of this technology. These progress will be connected with the treatment of tumors and the most advanced treatment. What’s more, it will contribute a lot to researches of cancer treatment and other diseases.
Ubiquitination and uibiquitin protein are playing an important role in protein post-translational modification. They are very significant substances in the cell regulation, cell differentiation, cell signaling pathway. According to the research of anemia, ubiquitination and uibiquitination protein have a close relationship with this disease. There was a paper published on CELL magazine, which was mainly focusing on the anemia. This article showed that hypoxia-inducible factor (1α) will occur SUMO modification under the hypoxia condition. This will promote the combination of HIF 1α and Hippel-Lindau. And then the ubiquitination degradation will occur. So we can conclude that the formation of red blood cells is regulated by the ubiquitination and SUMO, which will pave a new way for the research of clinical treatment.
Ubiquitination is a low component protein. It means that ubiquitination moleculars modify the target proteins with the help of enzymes. Some special enzymes will classify the proteins in the body to pick up the target proteins. It is very important in the localization, metabolism, function, regulation and degradation of proteins. The process of ubiquitination is a little complicated. The main three enzymes are ubiquitin activating enzyme, ubiquitin conjugating enzyme and ubiquitin ligase. The reaction of the three enzymes are the main process of ubiquitination.
We introduce applications of ubiquitination and ubiquitination proteins in all kinds of diseases and researches. We can conclude that the function of ubiquitination is attracting more and more attention of scientists and doctors. The future of this field is bright and we all believe that the ubiquitination technology will play a very important role in our future biotechnology.
