Top-Down, Middle-Down and Bottom-Up—Choose the Suitable Proteomics Strategy for Your Project
About the Infographics
Bottom-up is a traditional proteomics strategy widely used in proteomics research. Middle-down proteomics strategy can simultaneously identify and analyze several posttranslational modifications on longer peptide chains. Compared to bottom-up, the middle-down strategy can analyze longer length peptides. Top-down proteomics strategy can analyze the complete proteins directly and provide more accurate and abundant biological information.
This infographic introduces and compares the workflow, advantages, and disadvantages of the top-down, middle-down, and bottom-up strategies, and include literatures on the application of the strategies to help you choose the appropriate proteomics strategy for your project.
