Glycomics Analysis by Mass Spectrometry
About the Infographics
Glycomics is the study of glycans that focuses on the structure and function of carbohydrates. Glycoform distributions at the cellular, tissue, organ and organism levels are also studied. Three aspects of glycomics are explored, including structural characterization of glycans, research of glycan-protein interactions, and the study of in vitro and in vivo systems for the determination of the function of specific glycans. Glycans are usually analyzed via mass spectrometry. This infographic contains the brief introduction of glycans and mass spectrometry-based strategies for glycan analysis.
